Product portfolio:
Since its foundation in 1955, KURZ has been involved in the carcass trade. In the 1980s, the core business was expanded to include the professional disposal of used tyres. Since then, KURZ Karkassenhandel has continued to develop and is very open to new technologies such as granulation, fine grinding and pyrolysis. In 2016, KURZ commissioned Europe’s first and so far only rubber fine grinding machine for truck peeling coils. The plant regenerates 100 % rubber waste into new raw materials. In addition to used tyre rubber, other elastomers and rubber products can also be returned to production by contract grinding.
Karl Kurz, company founder and eponym, who is known in the industry for his reliability and competence, is always looking for new ways to recycle old tyres in the most environmentally friendly way possible. One innovative result of this quest: In close cooperation with the specialty chemicals company Evonik, KURZ Karkassenhandel has developed rubber-modified asphalt. The rubber asphalt is currently being put through its paces on several test tracks in the greater Stuttgart area.
