Planning and realising forward-looking construction projects in a sustainable and attractive way

Building sustainably: innovative recycling products for climate-friendly buildings of the future

The construction sector is responsible for around 38 per cent of global CO2 emissions. Natural resources for traditional building materials are finite. In order to achieve the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement, architects around the world are increasingly focussing on sustainable building materials and an efficient circular economy. The house of the future consumes little energy, makes an active contribution to Environmental protection and consists of recycled materials that are ideally recyclable.

The NEW LIFE initiative promotes the sustainable utilisation of end-of-life tyres (ELT) for durable, climate-friendly products in the building and construction industry. The recycled rubber granulate from used tyres is a high-quality secondary raw material for the production of attractive, environmentally friendly solutions for future-oriented building construction, as well as for ecological refurbishment and renovation. The rubber granules made from recycled ELT rubber granules manufactured products are sustainable, weather-resistant, non-slip, easy to lay and can be customised in terms of shape and colour.

Wide range of applications in the Building and construction industry

  • Covers and wall systems to protect building elements
  • Resilient floor coverings for balconies, terraces, halls and more
  • Fall protection floors for retirement homes, kindergartens and playgrounds
  • Waterproof sealing of walls, ceilings, roofs and floors
  • Impact sound insulation with elastic, mass-increasing levelling fill for indoor and outdoor use
  • Impact sound insulation membranes for sound insulation in building construction in accordance with DIN 4109:2018 and TA Lärm
  • Membranes for vibration isolation and structure-borne noise decoupling in the load range up to 1.50 N/mm² for load and thickness-dependent natural frequencies up to 10 Hz
  • Weather-resistant support palisades and boundary posts
  • Weatherproof lamps, vases and design objects
  • Attractive noise barriers and privacy screens
  • Building protection mats for green roofs and photovoltaic systems

Round thing for the future

Rubber granules from ELT is a valuable raw material for a wide range of sustainable applications in the building and construction industry. To obtain this high-quality material, the rubber from used tyres is mechanically shredded in state-of-the-art facilities in an environmentally friendly way until the desired grain size is achieved.

With the use of products from ELT rubber granules architects also make an important contribution to environmental protection and the circular economy, as the valuable components of used tyres have been reused to manufacture new, durable products. This means less waste and the conservation of natural resources.

Convenient security step by step

The sound-absorbing, robust and resilient properties of floor coverings made of ELT rubber recyclate are certainly suitable for a wide range of applications in the construction and building industry. On terraces, balconies, playgrounds and sports fields, the elastic, customisable floors protect against injuries and ensure safe movement. Floor coverings made of rubber powder and rubber granules are also increasingly being used by architects in indoor areas: For example, as fitness flooring, impact sound insulation, exhibition flooring or fall protection flooring in retirement homes and rehabilitation centres.

The environmentally friendly basis for green roofs and photovoltaics

Building protection mats made of ELT rubber recyclate ensure the secure positioning of photovoltaic systems on the roof and protect the waterproofing of green roofs from damage. At the same time, they are extremely robust and resilient. The recycled products are flame-retardant and resistant to flying sparks and radiant heat. The permanently elastic mats are drainage-capable and have a high resilience for high loads. They are also being used by more and more architects on flat roofs, walkways and maintenance paths, in multi-storey car parks or on terraces.

Your contribution to environmental protection pays off

With the use of forward-looking products made from sustainable ELT rubber granules When constructing and renovating buildings, architects make an active contribution to environmental protection and a functioning circular economy. Their clients, customers and the general public benefit from the use of high-quality, safe and durable products made from ELT recyclate and perceive you as a responsible company.

In addition, the use of customisable, flexibly adaptable products made of ELT rubber granules architects new possibilities for the attractive design of buildings and their outdoor areas. Last but not least, sustainable ELT material also quickly pays for itself economically, as the cost of maintenance and installation is significantly lower than with conventional materials.
