KURZ carcass trade, used tyre recycling, rubber recycling and circular economy

Product portfolio:

Since its foundation in 1955, KURZ has been involved in the carcass trade, and in the 1980s the core business was expanded to include professional used tyre disposal. Since then, KURZ Karkassenhandel has continued to develop and is very open to new technologies such as granulation, fine grinding and pyrolysis. In 2016, KURZ put Europe's first and so far only rubber pulverising machine for truck peelings into operation. The system regenerates 100 % rubber waste into new raw materials. In addition to used tyre rubber, other elastomers and rubber products can also be returned to production in toll grinding with this system.

Karl Kurz, company founder and namesake, who is known in the industry for his reliability and expertise, is always looking for new ways to recycle used tyres in the most environmentally friendly way possible. One innovative result of this endeavour: in close cooperation with the specialty chemicals company Evonik, KURZ Karkassenhandel has developed rubber-modified asphalt. The rubberised asphalt is currently being put through its paces on several test tracks in the greater Stuttgart area.
