After the presentation by well-known climate researcher Prof Dr Peter Wiesen, there will be a panel discussion on climate protection and schools, in which pupils, teachers and trainees can participate. The NEW LIFE initiative is committed to a sustainable tyre recycling economy and the environmentally friendly recycling of used tyres into climate-friendly recycled products for urban living spaces, sports and leisure facilities. The product spectrum ranges from elastic fall protection for playgrounds and joint-friendly tracks for sports fields or fitness centres to weatherproof protective layers for artificial turf or green roofs.
High-quality recycled products for open space, sport and exercise
Every tonne of used tyres that is recycled in an environmentally friendly way (and not incinerated) saves around 700 kilograms of CO2 emissions. By recycling 220,000 tonnes of used tyres, thousands of tonnes of waste with a half-life of 2,000 years are avoided in Germany every year. At the same time, natural resources are conserved and around 154,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions are saved - that is roughly the annual CO2 emissions of a small town with 15,000 inhabitants.
High-quality recycled products made from tyre rubber granulate are robust, durable, extremely weather-resistant, easy to work with and low-maintenance. Shapes, thicknesses and colours can be individually adapted to customer requirements, opening up new scope for the design of playgrounds, green spaces, sports fields, etc.
NEW LIFE adventure course and school project in Hall 10.2, Stand D84
At the NEW LIFE trade fair stand in Hall 10.2 (Stand D84), not only schoolchildren and trainees can experience the variety of climate-friendly recycled products for floors, paths, walls, roofs and more up close. On a sustainability trail, 17 different slabs and sheets of sustainable rubber granulate await discovery step by step. The innovative NEW LIFE goes to school learning portal can also be tried out at the stand. Visitors can try out the eight varied lessons on climate and environmental protection live at a terminal.
The exhibitors at FSB 2023 also include NEW LIFE partners REGUPOL (Hall 10.2, Stand F070 G071), Conradi+Kaiser (Hall 9.1, Stand A060 B061), KRAIBURG Relastec (Hall 10.2, Stand F010 G011) and MELOS (Hall 10.2, Stand D010).
