Sustainable basis for climate protection and energy security: building protection mats made from recycled rubber granulate (ELT)

Roof covering

The urban planning of the future favours climate-friendly building greening and renewable energy generation with photovoltaic systems. Durable, weather- and fire-resistant building protection mats made of recycled rubber granulate (ELT) ensure that the roofs are sustainably protected against damage and moisture and that the photovoltaic systems remain securely in place.

Green roofs store up to 80% of rainwater and slowly evaporate it again, produce fresh oxygen, filter polluted air and absorb radiation. To sustainably protect the waterproofing and insulation of green roofs from excess water and roots, robust building protection mats made from recycled rubber granulate (ELT) are the first choice. The hard-wearing, spade- and rot-resistant mats offer maximum protection for the roof and are optionally equipped with an integrated drainage layer.

Private households reduce their electricity costs with self-produced solar energy and at the same time make a contribution to climate protection. A photovoltaic system on the roof of a detached house (rated output 5 kW) reduces annual CO2 emissions by around three tonnes. As photovoltaic systems can damage the roof waterproofing, it is best to protect it sustainably with special mats and protective layers. The highly resistant, flame-retardant building protection mats and protective layers made of recycled rubber granulate (ELT) also ensure that the photovoltaic systems remain securely in place in the long term.

The elastic building protection mats for green roofs and photovoltaic systems are made of polyurethane-bonded rubber granulate on a recycled basis and have been successfully used for this purpose for many years. The mats are available in various designs, for diverse requirements and a wide variety of roof types/surfaces. Depending on the load, you can choose between sheets or panels in various dimensions and thicknesses. The hard-wearing recycled rubber granules (ELT) are also used to produce sustainable walkway slabs for maintenance work on roofs.

At GaLaBau 22, you can find out in person about the building protection mats and many other sustainable products from the NEW LIFE partners. Visit us in Hall 7, Stand 7-135.
