NEW LIFE initiative takes part in KGSt forum and Kommunale 2021
Willich, 30.09.2021 In autumn, the NEW LIFE initiative will be represented at two events for public administration: From 6 to 8 October 2021 at the KGSt-FORUM in Bonn and from 20 to 21 October 2021 at the Kommunale in Nuremberg. The NEW LIFE initiative will be showcasing the diverse possibilities of ELT (end-of-life tyres) as a material at the trade fairs.
At the NEW LIFE stands at the Administrative Congress KGSt Forum at the World Conference Centre Bonn (Stand G7) and at the Municipal Nuremberg (Hall 9, Stand 9-437), the trade fair for municipal supplies, visitors will receive comprehensive information on the wide range of applications for ELT material. Products made from recycled tyres are ideal for many municipal projects. For example, recycled rubber dust and rubber granulate can be used to produce floor coverings for playgrounds and sports fields, sealants, rubber asphalt, artificial turf, outdoor lamps, edging or noise barriers. At the trade fair stands, the NEW LIFE initiative team will be explaining the environmental benefits of products made from secondary raw materials and answering questions. The initiative will also be presenting the new NEW LIFE magazine, which features the latest developments in sustainable used tyre recycling.
There is a great need for information about secondary raw materials
As part of an online survey from March to July 2021, the NEW LIFE initiative asked local authorities about the relevance of secondary raw materials in municipal projects and public tenders. The results clearly showed that decision-makers in local authorities know little about the topic of secondary raw materials and their potential uses and would like more information.
The initiative-new-life.de website provides local authorities with comprehensive information on the utilisation of ELT material. The NEW LIFE initiative aims to reuse used tyres in the interests of the circular economy. The NEW LIFE partners process the ELT material or produce high-quality products from recycled tyres. For the future of the planet, the initiative aims to use this material as often and for as long as possible and to sensitise as many people as possible to the issues of resource conservation and a consistent circular economy.
About NEW LIFE:
NEW LIFE's partners are Conradi+Kaiser living industries, Estato Umweltservice, Genan, KRAIBURG Relastec, KURZ Karkassenhandel, Melos, MRH and REGUPOL BSW. In Germany alone, around 583,000 tonnes of used tyres are generated each year that need to be recycled. The resulting recycled products, in particular rubber granules and flour, are ideal for the resource-saving development of innovative products in a wide range of applications. These partner companies of the NEW LIFE campaign have set themselves the goal of promoting sustainable products made from ELT and sensitising people to conscious consumption.
