The global trend towards sustainability is also making itself felt in the sports and fitness industry. More and more operators of fitness studios and sports facilities are focussing on sustainable, environmentally conscious action. The efficient use of energy, the reduction of waste and the use of durable recycled products pay off both ecologically and economically. But how green are fitness centres and sports facilities really? A NEW LIFE survey invites you to take a sustainability check and at the same time provides ideas for climate-friendly equipment for studios, halls and facilities: https://de.research.net/r/V7R8MJY
Survey in cooperation with KoelnMesse runs until the end of March 2025
The NEW LIFE survey, which is being conducted in co-operation with KoelnMesse, is aimed at over 10,000 fitness studios in Germany, as well as operators of climbing and bouldering gyms, sports facilities, ice skating rinks and exercise rooms. The aim is to determine
- the importance of sustainability and climate protection for operators and customers,
- which climate-friendly measures have already been implemented or are planned,
- which sustainable products/materials are already being used and
- how well-known high-quality recycled products made from tyre rubber granulate are.
The results of the survey, which will run until the end of March 2025, will be summarised in a white paper, which will be presented at the international trade fair for sport, open space and exercise (FSB 2025) in Cologne in October 2025. The first 100 survey participants will receive a free ticket to visit FSB 2025, whose exhibitors include NEW LIFE.
Sustainably more safety, performance and comfort for sport and fitness
The NEW LIFE initiative is committed to a sustainable tyre recycling economy. The recycled rubber granulate from old tyres is used to produce innovative flooring systems as well as edging, boards and sound insulation solutions for fitness studios, sports and climbing halls, sports facilities, ice rinks and more. Variable colours, shapes and designs open up a wide range of design options.
The joint-friendly, non-slip flooring systems made of tyre rubber granules combine attractive design with outstanding functional sports properties. Robust, easy-care universal floors for fitness and weight training are just as much a part of the product range as heavy-duty rubber floors for cardio and equipment training, comfortable fitness floors for aerobics, Pilates, yoga etc. or easy-care floors for service areas and changing rooms.
Durable fitness floor systems that are easy on the joints
Weatherproof flooring made of tyre rubber granules is a robust, water-resistant surface that is also suitable for outdoor areas in fitness studios and for sports and multi-purpose facilities. The outdoor floors are characterised by their high load-bearing capacity and resistance to mechanical impact. On request, the floors can be combined with an additional elastic substructure, which protects the screed floors in buildings and can act as impact sound insulation.
The noise and vibrations generated by workouts, cardio, strength training, etc. can be efficiently reduced by sound-absorbing floor systems. To protect against injuries and accidents, edges, corners and steps can also be protected with rubber granulate edging/covers.
Safety rubber flooring for climbing gyms and ice skating rinks
Safety rubber floors for climbing gyms meet the highest standards and are recommended by the German Alpine Association. They minimise the risk of injury in the event of a fall - even at critical fall heights. The non-slip, seamless surface ensures a firm footing in any situation. Special winter sports floors made of rubber granules prevent guests from slipping unintentionally in ice skating rinks and ski resorts. The use of recyclable products in fitness centres and sports facilities helps to avoid waste, conserve natural resources, save CO2 emissions and reduce operating costs. This is because the sports and fitness products made from tyre rubber granules are durable, low-maintenance, easy to install and clean.
