Whether for athletics or ball games, playgrounds or climbing gardens: the floor covering has a decisive impact on performance, health and safety. Resilient floor coverings made from recycled tyre rubber granules meet the highest requirements both indoors and outdoors. The sustainable rubber flooring is robust, weather-resistant, non-slip, easy on the joints, easy to clean and also protects against falls from heights of up to three metres. Available in a wide range of shapes, colours and designs, the recycled products open up new design freedom, help to optimise the ecological footprint of local authorities, clubs and companies, and quickly pay for themselves in every respect.
Paving the way for new best performances
Whether tennis or basketball, athletics or football, indoor or stadium: sports floors made from recycled rubber granules provide professional and amateur athletes with lasting protection against injuries and prepare the ground for top performances. Available in various colours, certain areas of the flooring can be reinforced or made with different degrees of elasticity (depending on the type of sport and customer requirements).
After Usain Bolt set two world records at the 2009 World Athletics Championships in Berlin on a REGUPOL running track made partly of rubber granules, the Olympic Stadium in Munich was also upgraded accordingly for the 2022 European Championships. Gina Lückenkemper won gold in the 100 metres on the certified class 1 track. Decathlete Niklas Kaul took the decathlon crown in the final 1500 metres.
Sporty quality in 28 standard colours
For the perfect balance between sports and body protection functions, the base layer of the elastic running track made of recycled granules was given a coating of polyurethane and scattered new rubber granules, which makes it resistant to spikes, UV light and extreme weather conditions. At the request of the operator, the Berlin running track was finished in "Hertha blue", which has since been added to the standard range of 28 colours due to high demand.
In indoor fitness areas, attractive sports floors made from recycled rubber granules make training safer, more comfortable and more sustainable. With optimally adapted thickness, the floors offer a high level of walking comfort, are sound-reducing and are characterised by excellent force reduction values. Neither the impact of weights nor the load of equipment can harm the floors. The robust, easy-care and water-resistant material is also easy to clean and maintain.
Elasticated bases for every sport
High-quality mats made from recycled tyre rubber granules also offer visual, ecological and functional benefits as an elastic substructure for run-up and warm-up tracks, artificial turf pitches or multi-purpose halls for volleyball, handball, basketball and badminton. The resilient, easy-to-lay elastic layers are easy on the joints, give athletes a feeling of safety, guarantee uniform physical properties and also ensure excellent ball rebound behaviour.
Making playgrounds attractive and safe
Elastic fall protection surfaces made of sustainable rubber granules protect children reliably and barrier-free from injuries caused by falling from a height of up to three metres. The flooring can be installed in situ on flat, curved or sloping surfaces (up to 45° incline). Variable shapes, imprints and colours can be used to create varied playscapes that appeal to all the senses.
Tyre rubber safety surfaces are more economical in the long term than surfaces with loose bulk materials, as the rubber granules are durable, easy to clean and low-maintenance. Anchoring points for play equipment are seamlessly enclosed, which prevents injuries and contamination. The base layer (35 to 120 mm thick, depending on the fall protection) is applied to the surface in a semi-liquid state. The colour and design of the top wear layer is determined by the local authority.
New design freedom for child-friendly outdoor facilities
The elastic flooring systems are also available without fall protection properties for the decorative design of ancillary areas, paths and squares in public spaces. Non-slip rubber granulate flooring systems (with/without fall protection) are also the first choice for wet areas in play areas. Channels, streams and gutters can also be covered with the rubber flooring, as can hills and sloping walking areas.
The range of sustainable recycled products from partners of the NEW LIFE initiative for attractive playground design is rounded off by decorative objects suitable for children in various shapes, sizes and colours. The spectrum ranges from decorative balls and cubes, giant mushrooms and caterpillar heads to soft rubber elephants, rhinos, dromedaries and ponies to sit on and climb on.
