Winner of the NEW LIFE playground competition comes from Saxony-Anhalt

Winner of the playground competition

The NEW LIFE competition for the child- and climate-friendly refurbishment of German children's playgrounds has met with a great response and has found a deserving winner. Over 450,000 votes were cast for the 15 nominated playgrounds from all regions of the country. The three playgrounds with the most votes have each won a sustainable fall protection surface made of tyre rubber granulate.

The clear winner of the vote was the Rippicha Gutenborn playground in Saxony-Anhalt with 126,763 votes (27.8%). The once idyllic playground has not been maintained for 15 years and has also been destroyed by the crossing of a sewer pipe. The new fall protection surface from a NEW LIFE partner is to be the foundation stone for the renovation of the playground by the new local heritage organisation.

Second place in the competition was secured with 92,967 votes (20.4%) for the playground at the Herten Rheinfelden tennis club, which was in need of renovation. Together with the children, the parents in Rheinfelden want to create something new and, above all, safe. Here too, the sustainable fall protection surface is the initial spark for the renovation.

In the battle for third place, the playground at Eutingen church came out on top with 81,730 votes (17.2%), just 314 votes ahead of fourth-placed Grundschule an der Masch. The playground in Eutingen is to be remodelled by a parents' initiative so that there is something for all ages. From the parents' point of view, it fits in very well with this project to also redesign the ground, which is maintained and cleaned by parents on their own initiative. The new NEW LIFE fall protection floor will significantly reduce this effort.
