NEW LIFE in the final of the Lammsbräu Award for Sustainability 2025

NEW LIFE takes 2nd place in the Lammsbräu Award for Sustainability 2025

The NEW LIFE initiative is delighted: NEW LIFE has been nominated as a finalist in the "Entrepreneurial partnerships for a sustainable future" category of the prestigious Neumarkter Lammsbräu Prize for Sustainability 2025. The award is one of the most recognised sustainability prizes in Germany and is presented annually to pioneering projects and personalities who are driving change towards greater sustainability through innovation and commitment. An encouraging sign of the sustainable innovation potential of the NEW LIFE partners and the increasing importance of circular value creation.

NEW LIFE impressed the jury with a strong concept: recycling used tyres into high-quality products for construction, infrastructure and design - with up to 95 % recycled content and up to 85 % CO₂ savings compared to new products. First place in the category went to the Kulturland project, which strengthens organic farms with cooperatively acquired land and counters the land market with a model that is oriented towards the common good. Alongside NEW LIFE, Regionalwert AG Münsterland was also among the finalists.

The awards ceremony took place at a festive event in Neumarkt. The awards were presented by Johannes Ehrnsperger, owner and managing director of Neumarkter Lammsbräu. Christine Guth, NEW LIFE Network Coordinator, was "delighted with the fantastic event, which brought together companies from different sectors that are committed to sustainability and climate protection. The award nomination shows that our commitment is being recognised in ever wider circles and that it pays to be active in climate protection and sustainability."

A particular highlight was the appearance of Renate Künast, who was honoured with a special award for her outstanding commitment. Guth was particularly inspired by Künast's appeal to "make the earth grandchild-proof. She conveyed a powerful optimism that we share."

The award ceremony was accompanied by the Sustainability Forum, which focussed on the topic of water as a global and local resource. In cooperation with the Petra Kelly Foundation and GLS Bank, experts such as Dr Dina Barbian, Dr Annette Massmann and Mathias Friedrichs discussed justice, access and responsibility in dealing with water - a powerful reminder of how interconnected ecological challenges are.

Being honoured with second place at the Lammsbräu Award reinforces NEW LIFE's course: the circular economy as a strategy for the future.
