NEW LIFE was represented as a nominated initiative at the award ceremony for the Neumarkter Lammsbräu Prize for Sustainability 2025.
NEW LIFE was nominated in the category "Entrepreneurial partnerships for a sustainable future" for its concept of recycling used tyres - an approach that enables up to 95 % recycled content and up to 85 % CO₂ savings compared to new products.
Even if it wasn't enough to win the prize, taking part in the award ceremony was a great benefit. Christina Guth, Network Coordinator at NEW LIFE, emphasised: "It was an inspiring evening with exciting impulses and important encounters. The event showed how big the movement for sustainability already is - and how important it is to keep at it."
The prize in this category went to the Kulturland project, which supports organic farmers with cooperatively organised land and establishes a model for the land market that is geared towards the common good. In addition to NEW LIFE, Regionalwert AG Münsterland was also nominated.
One particular highlight was Renate Künast being honoured with the special prize. Her call to make the earth safe for grandchildren and her optimistic view of the future made a lasting impression.
The award ceremony was accompanied by the Sustainability Forum, which focussed on water as a global and local resource - with contributions from experts on equity, access and responsibility.
Taking part in the award ceremony encourages NEW LIFE in its endeavours: The circular economy is a key strategy for the future.
