Nationwide recognition for NEW LIFE is catching on: inclusion in the ESD Stakeholder Index

NEW LIFE goes to school

The Education Initiative NEW LIFE goes to school is now available nationwide ESD Stakeholder Index represented by the Federal Ministry of Education, Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth and the German Commission for UNESCO. The initiative is therefore one of the organisations working to raise the profile of their educational programmes in the field of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) across Germany.

Through ‘NEW LIFE macht Schule’, the NEW LIFE initiative demonstrates in a practical way how the circular economy, resource conservation and sustainable business practices can be supported through the mechanical recycling of tyres. The aim is to raise awareness among apprentices and school pupils about the responsible use of resources in their future careers and to foster future-oriented skills for sustainable development.

Free online learning resources

The free educational resources include teaching materials, digital learning content, project ideas and practical examples for vocational schools offering training in the following trades: horticulture and landscaping, roofing/carpentry, administrative assistant and, coming soon, farming. The focus is on topics such as the circular economy, secondary raw materials, climate protection and the sustainable use of resources. The materials are based on the principles of education for sustainable development and promote networked thinking as well as the ability to understand and help shape sustainable solutions.

Embedding Education for Sustainable Development

Inclusion in the ESD Stakeholder Index highlights the contribution made by NEW LIFE goes to school to embed Education for Sustainable Development in Germany. At the same time, it raises the profile of the educational initiative and makes it easier for schools, educational institutions and other interested parties to access the programmes on offer.

We are delighted to have been included in this list and see it as an incentive to continually develop our educational programmes and to inspire even more young people to take an interest in the circular economy and sustainable practices.

To the NEW LIFE’s ESD stakeholder profile is catching on in schools.
