Under the motto "This is how the future works!", Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and the German Federal Environmental Foundation (DBU) to this year's Environment Week. On 10 and 11 June 2021, participants can look forward to a varied programme of discussions and specialist forums on important environmental and sustainability topics. More than 150 exhibitors from business, technology, research, science and civil society will be presenting innovative projects and concepts for a sustainable future online. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the two-day event will primarily take place digitally this year.
Four high-calibre panel discussions will be broadcast live from the main stage in the park of Schloss Bellevue in Berlin. Federal President Frank Walter Steinmeier will open the event together with Rita Schwarzelühr-Sutter, Chair of the DBU Board of Trustees. DBU Secretary General Alexander Bonde will lead through the programme. Numerous prominent guests, such as the physician and cabaret artist Dr Eckart von Hirschhausen and the Fridays for Future activist Luisa Neubauer, will be taking part in the Week of the Environment.
