Ideas forüFor a sustainable future

The format „66 seconds for the future“The sustainability portal „forum future economy“ offers personalities from business, science and society a stage to present their ideas for a sustainable future in short video statements. The aim of the series is to convey inspiring visions, concrete solutions and innovative projects in a concise, succinct and audience-friendly manner.

Christina Guth appears in front of the camera in the latest edition of this format. In the 66-second video she explains why the tyre recycling industry makes a valuable contribution to resource conservation, climate protection and the circular economy. Guth points out that over 44 million new tyres hit the roads in Germany every year, generating a large amount of waste tyres. Instead of leaving these valuable secondary raw materials unused, they must be returned to the economic cycle.

For NEW LIFE and AZuR, keeping tyres in circulation means:

  • Extend service life through professional repair, regrooving and (multiple) retreading of tyres
  • Conserving raw materials through climate-friendly mechanical recycling of tyres that can no longer be reused
  • Reducing emissions by avoiding new production and waste

Guth emphasises: „Old tyres are not rubbish, but valuable raw materials that can be used to create new products such as sports field surfaces, safety flooring or innovative building materials. This not only saves CO₂, but also reduces dependence on imports and contributes to climate protection.“

With her 66-second statement, Christina Guth not only draws attention to an often underestimated sustainability issue, but also highlights the importance of social awareness and political support for circular value creation. Only through the joint commitment of industry, trade, science and politics can the transformation process towards a genuine tyre circular economy be accelerated.
